What Watersport equipment will be available for guests to use?

Whilst we have not yet made a decision on the water toys that will be provided, we anticipate that it will be a combination of kayaks and paddleboards.

However, we can assure guests that sufficient equipment will be provided to enable 10 people to have fun on the water at the same time.

Whilst we do not provide childcare services directly, we are able to recommend a number of local childcare services which can be found here.

How do I access Westcombe on arrival?

Prior to your arrival, the Salcombe Finest team will email you details of how to access and find Westcombe. This will provide you with the key codes required to access Westcombe and obtain the keys from the key safes.

Depending on your booking, you may also be greeted by a member of our team who will help you check-in and show you around.

Do you provide insurance?

We do not provide insurance for your holiday but we do require you to have your own comprehensive holiday insurance policy in place.

What TV channels are available at Westcombe?

Westcombe will have a comprehensive TV package including the following:

  • Sky Sports Ultra HD
  • Sky Sports Movies
  • Sky Entertainment Channels
  • BT Sports HD
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Netflix
  • All terestrial TV channels
  • All Smart TV Apps

In addition, the main lounge and cinema room will have fixed HDMI cables should guests wish to stream content from their laptop to the TV. If you wish to make a box office purchase (e.g a movie, boxing event) please do let us know and we will be happy to arrange this.

Please note, Sky and BT Channels will only be available on the TVs in the main lounge, cinema room, Boathouse, Kitchen and Master Bedroom. The remaining TVs in guest bedrooms will be smart TVs with teresential TV channels and apps.

Is Westcombe affected by the tide?

Due to Westcombe's location on Batson Creek, we are affected by the tide. This means that during the period of mid to low and low tide, there is no direct water access from the boathouse. However, there is still a period of approximately 3-4 hours between mid and high tide during which guests will be able to access the water by kayak or paddle board and return to the Boathouse. We hope you will appreciate this is one thing we cannot change!

As part of the arrival pack, guests will be provide with a timetable providing details on the tide times (times of high and low tide plus the depth changes).

Can I book a short break?

Outside of the peak periods (i.e. school holidays), we do accept short breaks for a weekend, long weekend or mid-week stay. These are subject to availability and are normally charged at approximately 70% of the weekly rate.

How much will Westcombe look like the visuals?

The visuals shown are intended to provide an accurate indication of how Westcombe will look once completed. Please note, the finished property may have slight differences when compared to the visuals but this will not be material.

Are parties permitted at Westcombe?

Unfortunately out of respect for our neighbours and the tranquil location of Westcombe, we do not permit guests to hosts parties. If guests do not adhere to this condition, they will be asked to vacate the property immediately.

Am I permitted to have guests visit me at the property?

We do permit friends to visit you at Westcombe during your stay, provided the total number of people in the property does not exceed 15. However, friends are not allowed to stay overnight unless they are a member of the initial booking party. This is an insurance and health & safety issue and unfortunately is non-negotiable; guests will be asked to vacate a property if they do not adhere to this condition of their stay.

What is the changeover day for reservations?

The standard changeover day for Westcombe will be a Saturday. Outside of the peak periods, there may be more flexibility around the changeover day.

What is the accessibility like at Westcombe?

We are building Westcombe to be as accessible as is practically possible given our location.

If you require special assistance, please let us know so we can discuss your requirements and arrange something suitable.

Is there CCTV at the property?

There will be 24 hour CCTV covering all exterior areas of Westcombe and the Boathouse. This can be viewed on any of the TVs or touchpads within the house.

In addition, there will a perimeter sensor security system which will alert guests should there be an intruder.

Is the garden secure?

The grounds of Westcombe wil be completely secured with a combination of fencing and thick vegetation. This will create a safe environment for children and dogs to play.

What security measures will be in place at Westcombe?

Westcombe will feature a state of the art security system including the following:

  • Perimeter sensor alarm system
  • External 4k CCTV cameras viewable from inside the property
  • Remotely monitored alarm system
  • Electronic coded gate
  • High security safes provided in each bedroom.

Are dogs allowed to stay at Westcombe?

Guests will be permitted to bring their dogs to Westcombe and there will be no additional charge for this.

Other pets may be accepted on a case by case basis. Please do let us know you requirements when enquiring and we will be happy to advise.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Our check-in time will be 3pm. If required, guests can arrive anytime after midday and leave their vehicles on the property until check in time.

Our check-out time will be 10am. Late checkouts may be available depending on when the next guests are due to arrive.

Is additional cleaning available throughout our stay?

If you require additional cleaning or housekeeping of Westcombe throughout your stay this can be provided at an additional cost.

Will guests able to access the boathouse?

Guests will be permitted to access and enjoy the Boathouse in its entirety.

Are there any areas guests are not permitted to access?

Guests are not permitted to enter the plant room of the house due to safety reasons.

If an issue occurs that requires access to the plant room, either a member of the team will visit the property or if the issue requires a very simple fix, you will be provided with an access code.

Are there electric vehicle charging points?

There will be two super fast electric vehicle charging points at Westcombe which guests will be permitted to use throughout their stay.

What parking will be available at Westcombe?

Westcombe will have capacity for up to 8 cars.

Are towels and bath robes provided?

A bath towel, hand towel, face towel and bath robe will be provided for each guest for use throughout their stay. Towels and robes must not leave Westcombe and must be returned by guests at the end of their stay.

If you wish to purchase one of our towels or dressing gowns please do let us know and we would be happy to arrange this.

Please note, we do not provide beach towels so advise that these are brought with you.

Will there be Internet available at Westcombe?

Westcombe will have ultra fast fibre optic broadband and wifi with download speeds of up to 500mb per second at no extra cost.

Where do I pay for my booking?

All payments for bookings are processed by our booking agents, Salcombe Finest. If you would like to make a reseveration, please make an enquiry and we will advise on how payment can be made.

Is VAT charged on reservations?

VAT is charged on reservations at Westcombe and is included in our prices. If you are VAT registered and require a VAT invoice for your stay, please do let us know and we will be happy to provide this to you.

Can I smoke inside?

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside Westcombe, however ashtrays are provided if you wish to smoke outside.
